Scooter Prix Round 3, Indonesia’s premier Vespa racing event, was held at the Sentul Karting International Circuit on October 19-20.
Organized by Springboard and Mahaka Media (Mahaka X), the event brought together over 200 racers across various classes and attracted more than 300 Vespa and scooter communities, highlighting the race’s popularity among enthusiasts.
This year, the event introduced a new Lambretta-only class, which was a hit among fans. Project Director Priambodo Soesetyo noted that this new category was added in response to requests from the community, enhancing the event’s variety and excitement.
The race was full of drama, with intense rivalries and unexpected outcomes in the competitive 2T Tune Up Open Class. Fan-favorite racer Husna Dotcom suffered a setback after a fall kept him from finishing, allowing Sukabumi native Putra Purnama Alam to take the lead in the standings with 56 points.
Despite his fall, Husna made an impressive comeback in another class, clinching the top spot in the 2T Small Frame FFA Open Class. This move placed him back in the spotlight and underscored the resilience and skill that keep fans coming back to each round.
Another standout performer, M. Nurgianto, continued to dominate the 4T 220cc Open Class, achieving a hat-trick of victories across all three rounds so far. With a significant points lead, Nurgianto remains confident as he eyes a clean sweep in the upcoming Round 4. “I’m committed to maintaining my winning streak and finishing strong in the final round,” he shared, determined to secure his place at the top.
Scooter Prix Round 3 was not only about competition but also about bringing the community together. Over 300 riders participated in a large-scale Sunday Morning Ride (Sunmori) to the circuit, showcasing a diverse range of bikes and camaraderie among enthusiasts.
Fawzi, Chairman of Vespa Club Bogor 1991, expressed his enthusiasm, noting that this year’s Sunmori created a unique and memorable experience for attendees to connect and share their passion for scooters and motorcycles.
Sponsored by Pertamina and supported by E3 Mobility, Alang Sari Cool, and Iqos, Scooter Prix has established itself as a major gathering for scooter enthusiasts in Indonesia. Fans can keep up with standings and highlights on the Kaskus website, and replays are available on Scooter Prix’s social media platforms, allowing the excitement of this high-energy event to reach an even wider audience.
