Visinema Studios together with Springboard are poised to enchant audiences worldwide with “JUMBO” a heartwarming animated adventure slated for theatrical release during Eid al-Fitr 2025. This marks a historic milestone as the first Indonesian animated film to set a global release, spanning 17 countries.

The studio has unveiled the official trailer and official poster, offering a glimpse into the enchanting world of “JUMBO.” The trailer introduces Don (voiced by Prince Poetiray and Den Bagus Sasono), a spirited young boy who cherishes his late parents’ book of fairy tales (Don’s parents voiced by Ariel NOAH and Bunga Citra Lestari). Raised by his loving grandmother (voiced by Ratna Riantiarno), Don dreams of showcasing his talents at the village’s art festival, alongside his friends Nurman (voiced by Yusuf Ozkan) and Mae (voiced by Graciella Abigail). However, his cherished book is stolen by the envious Atta (voiced by M. Adhiyat).

Don’s journey takes an exciting turn when he encounters Meri (voiced by Quinn Salman), a girl from another world seeking help to find her missing parents (voiced by Ariyo Wahab and Cinta Laura Kiehl). The quartet embarks on a grand adventure that will test the bonds of their friendship.

The official poster showcases the film’s vibrant characters against the backdrop of the cheerful Seruni Village. Don and his friends are depicted riding a modified bicycle, ready for adventure. In the background, Atta and his older sibling, Acil (voiced by Angga Yunanda), are featured alongside other villagers.

With “JUMBO”, we invite audiences to rediscover the magic of childhood, where imagination knows no bounds and adventure is a part of everyday life.

More than just entertainment, “JUMBO” is a heartfelt story, a love letter to our viewers. In a landscape where family-friendly films are scarce, “JUMBO” offers a special experience filled with laughter, tears, and warmth. This film is for all of us, for our children, and for the child within us. Its Eid al-Fitr release makes it a precious gift for Indonesian families, reminding us the importance of friendship, togetherness, empathy, and love.

Director Ryan Adriandhy, who also serves as Head of Animation Development at Visinema Studios, emphasizes the team’s dedication and passion in creating the film. He also mentions the research undertaken to ensure the visuals resonate with Indonesian audiences.

“At Visinema Studios, we use a storytelling approach that is relatable and accessible to everyone,” says Adriandhy. “Therefore, I believe that even though “JUMBO” is an animated film, it still has a sense of familiarity for viewers, allowing them to connect with the characters and the story. With Don, we will meet many people, and there will be many lessons to be learned, especially from Don’s encounter with Meri, Don’s friendship with Nurman and Mae, and how Atta, who is a bully, will also learn his valuable lesson in this film.”

Ariel, the vocalist of one of the most popular Indonesian bands, NOAH, who lends his voice to Don’s father, adds:

“For me, “JUMBO” is a film that can be watched by everyone. Because “JUMBO” was made for us, our children, and the child within us. “JUMBO” has the best animation quality, and the story is warm and has many positive values.”

Adding to the film’s charm, Indonesian pop band Maliq & D’Essentials contributes their rendition of the iconic children’s song “Kumpul Bocah” as the film’s original soundtrack. The band’s lively performance at the trailer and poster launch event captured the spirit of adventure and warmth that “JUMBO” promises to deliver.

“We are delighted to be involved in creating the OST for “JUMBO”, which brings a beautiful and warm story to everyone”

says Widi Puradiredja from Maliq & D’Essentials. “The song “Kumpul Bocah” has certainly become an iconic song that has accompanied our childhood, and we try to re-interpret it with a new energy as the OST for the film “JUMBO” to suit the spirit of the film.”
