After the success of its first anime concert on December 9, 2023, at Taman Ismail Marzuki in Jakarta, the anime concert titled ‘An Anime Symphony: Overdrive’ returned on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at JIEXPO Convention Centre & Theatre Kemayoran, Jakarta.

With the great enthusiasm of anime lovers in Jakarta a.k.a Wibu, the Anime Symphony concert was finally held again at a larger venue with the title ‘An Anime Symphony: Overdrive’. JIEXPO Convention Center & Theater Kemayoran and filled with anime enthusiasts.

Promoted by springboard, this concert was held twice in one day at 15:30 and 19:00 and was attended by 4900 enthusiastic spectators who joined in singing throughout the event. The batavia madrigal singers (bms), the resonanz children’s choir (trcc), and trcc serunai performed alongside the jakarta concert orchestra, presenting 21 songs from famous anime such as doraemon, detective conan, naruto: shippuden, attack on titan, digimon adventure, kimi no na wa, and many others. Many spectators also came wearing various captivating cosplay costumes.

The jakarta concert orchestra opened the concert with the song ‘detective conan main theme,’ followed by a performance from trcc serunai, a children’s choir aged 4-7 years, singing the soundtrack ‘doraemon’ with their adorable presentation complete with accessories depicting bamboo propellers on their heads. The audience then enthusiastically sang along to the song ‘hikaru nara’ from the anime ‘shigatsu wa kimi no uso’ with four singers from the batavia madrigal singers.

The solo performances were equally captivating, with birgitta sisca singing ‘mononoke hime’ from the anime ‘princess mononoke,’ and farman purnama delivering ‘spinning globe’ from the anime ‘the boy and the heron.’ Not to be outdone, stefani yang mesmerized the audience with her rendition of ‘blue bird’ from the anime ‘naruto: shippuden,’ accompanied by the cheers and applause of the spectators.

Before wrapping up the concert, the jakarta concert orchestra along with all the artists involved in the performance, surprised the audience by performing ‘butter-fly’ from ‘digimon adventure’ and ‘sparkle’ from the anime ‘kimi no na wa,’ greeted with joyful cheers from the spectators.
