Unprecedented Success at Jakarta’s Premier Anime Symphony Concert
Anime Symphony concert titled “An Anime Symphony: Overdrive” captivated the hearts of anime enthusiasts. Following its success on December 9, 2023, at Taman Ismail Marzuki, the much-anticipated event made a return on Saturday, February 3, 2024. This year, the event scaled up to accommodate the overwhelming demand, selecting the spacious JIEXPO Convention Centre & Theatre in Kemayoran, Jakarta.
A Gathering of Anime Lovers
The concert saw an impressive turnout of nearly 4,900 attendees, each eager to experience their favorite anime soundtracks live. The event featured two spectacular shows at 15:30 and 19:00, facilitated by the renowned promoter Springboard, ensuring all fans had the chance to partake in the musical festivity.
Stellar Performances at the Anime Symphony
The Jakarta Concert Orchestra set the tone for the evening with the iconic “Detective Conan Main Theme.” The musical journey continued with the Resonanz Children’s Choir’s delightful rendition of the “Doraemon” soundtrack. The Batavia Madrigal Singers added to the charm, engaging the audience with “Hikaru Nara” from “Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.”
Solo acts shone brightly, with Birgitta Sisca delighting fans with “Mononoke Hime” from “Princess Mononoke,”. Farman Purnama captivating the crowd with “Spinning Globe” from “The Boy and the Heron.” Stefani Yang’s rendition of “Blue Bird” from “Naruto: Shippuden” garnered loud cheers.
A Resounding Finale
As the evening drew to a close, the Jakarta Concert Orchestra and all the performers came together for a grand finale, delighting the crowd with “Butter-Fly” from “Digimon Adventure” and “Sparkle” from “Kimi no Na wa.” The audience’s joyous cheers echoed throughout the venue, marking the end of a truly magical night.
